inner piece?

P1050363

This weekend is the opening for my show at the Barn Swallow Gallery.  If you are in the area please do stop in.  I will be there this Saturday, from 1-3ish.  Here is one of my favorite pieces for the gallery.  Saturday is the first day of the month, reason alone to celebrate, plus a gallery opening, and four tickets to Cirque Du Soleil... March is looking good!

"The way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start.  So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already."  ~ David BarryP1050430_3

and... I also finished the scarf I was working on. well, almost, still a few strings to weave in here, there.  Oh, it feels good to finish something...now, where did I put my list of mustdos?!

Thank you so much for your comments on my journal pages, they are all class samples for the class I am teaching at Asilomar...which will be here very soon, right after Artfest.

This song is exactly how I am feeling today.

Hope to be there!!

I wish I could be there for your gallery opening. It will be wonderful, I'm sure.

I'm going to Cirque for the first time next week. I can't wait!

...and...we've almost made it through the winter....

So many reasons to celebrate!

That is a beautiful painting. It evokes so much emotion. I love the cake, its my birthday today so can I have a piece? I always laugh at that m@m quote, its always so funny. The scarf looks nice, its great when you can finish something like that. I have a red lace scarf I have been working on for ages or maybe I should say I started it ages ago. Good luck with your show.

That piece is pretty gorgeous Mrs. M. Congrats on the scarf, those are hard for me to finish myself. The cake? They are going to love it!

Good luck at your show!

i listened to that very album on this morning's commute, adore ...

these photos make me feel warm, calm and wonderful, thank you :) and now i think i must head down to find some chocolate ;-) xo

We took our two kidlings (7 and 10) to Cirque here in San Jose... We had matinee seats, center front, 4 rows from the stage, on the aisle...very lucky! Breathtaking and beautifully magical...They are still talking about it!

the tree in the beautiful painting reminds me a bit of the pussy willow pieces i've been wiring together - i love thinking that you and i inspire each other as we do. i've thought of you all day today, as always -
wish, wish, wish i could be there for the show. i will be in spirit, you know that.
i also wish you could come over tonight and we could laugh and watch in treatment together with some smoky red wine and dark chocolate. xo

I wish I could be at your opening and I know it will be a success! I look forward to reading all about it. :) Have a great time!

The piece would be one of my favorites too. It has so much to see and study and look at and dream over. love the scarf

In 2006 I saw a Cirque show for the first time in Cincinnati. I had always said if they ever came to town, I was buying the best seats front and center and I did. It was the number one best splurge I ever did. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Awesome post...especially the part about finishing the M&M's and the chocolate cake. lol!
The piece from the gallery is just amazing.
I sure wish I was close enough to come to the opening. Have a blast!

the painting is breath-takingly beautiful - i so wish i could be at your show and see all the pieces up close. i'm always amazed at the magic and mystery you still up using such a limited pallet. i WANT to learn how to do that too!!

and i can imagine the moist sweetness of the delectable chocolate cake...yummmmm.

i have yet to see a cirque show - i hope the 4 of you have a delightful time.

ok, I commented on yesterday's post but that cake sure looks yum, i love knitting scarves (I don't know how to knit anything else, so all my friends have several scarves each), and your painting is awesome. zippee. she got her mojo going on again.

Your favorite piece for the gallery show is...breathtaking! You are a Priestess of Subtle Emotion. Blessings for your show!

misty, this piece has to be one of my favorite's too. i know that they will all be breathtaking pieces and the show will be such a success!
i am actually hoping i will get to see it in person...olivia and i have a mommy-daughter date that day---she has ballet auditions that morning but i think i can make it to the opening. i truly hope i can...keeping my fingers crossed.

I love the painting, the colors are faboo, so rich and layered and evocative. Have a fantastic opening.

i will be thinking of you saturday. and look forward to hearing all about it! truly another gorgeous painting here. :) sending love...ciao bella!

This post was fantastic! The cake looks delectable, the scarf (I have a HUGE thing for scarves) looks lovely, and the art piece from your show is fabulous! I'm running out of descriptive words for how much I adore, relish, and am grateful for you and your work. I wish I wish I wish I could go to your show!

I always love your paintings. There is so much going on and so much radiates from your art. I wish you a wonderful show! I wish I could be there. Will there be some pictures on their website from the show? Oh I hope so!! I would love to see some of the work that you created especially for the exhibit. Oh and I also tagged you on my blog. Hope you don't mind playing along. :-)

How I love your piece for the show! I, too, wish I could be at your gallery showing. Know that I am sending warm hugs your way. I know it will be a success!!
