may day
~ note to self: if you don't want an honest opinion don't ask for it...the truth isn't all that great after all! ~ note to reader: most of this post is missing....it was deleted by myself after asking Kevin to read it...and hearing "haven't you already posted that post before". sheesh! and who says I take things way too personally?! ha! moi? sigh. I know, it's true, but what can I do? Wait, don't answer that... ;-)
Anyhow, as I was not saying...to celebrate the first day of May we took the long way home from school today and picked buttercup after buttercup, carrying with us more than our share, it was hard to say no to any of the sweet & darling buttercups and the hillside still looked untouched. On our way home we always look for bunnies in the yard of the bunny house, today we didn't see any at first, but the lady that lives there was checking her mail, immediately Jade started a conversation with her about how we always hope to see the bunnies outside in her yard, soon we were in her house petting one of the nine baby bunnies that are going to be up for adoption.... all I have heard tonight is please, daddy...pleaseeeeeeee, can we get a bunny, maybe two?
How did you celebrate this day, the first one of May?
Tomorrow I am going to finally post some of my latest work....it's been awhile.
A few things I am loving so much today....toasted rice tea, this song by she & him, these self portraits, and little handfuls of buttercups. Good News...my laptop came home today, and it works after months of hibernating!...yay!

Hey there....been a while !
Ahhh adoption. Did that myself this week. Its hard to go past a pair of soft sad brown eyes. An afghan hound later.....oh dear ;).
A sencha tea is of course the only remedy. Good call.
Very much looking forward to hanging out in a couple of weeks. More tea - yay. Oh my goodness, can it be so soon ?
Safe travels to you.

And a happy Mayday to you too, (although it is the 2nd down here already.)
Aren't baby bunnies so cute? Actually they make very good pets, low maintenance, don't need walking and are quite clean too.
I'm looking forward to meeting you in Melbourne.

spring has truly began in here north. few days ago i climbed on out hills and saw first leaves of rowan and birch. in few days the nature has started to metaphor in to green. i think spring is such a magical time, you can not but awe from seeing miracles after another bursting from the nature. <3

beautiful - i will never tire of hearing about picking buttercups and petting furry bunnies :-) i NEVER ask walter's opinion about my blog posts for the same reason - i feel he's lucky to get to read them, ha!
happy may day my dear friend - i wish i lived around the corner and i would hang a paper basket of flowers and candy on your doorknob, ring the bell and run and hide, watching you open the door to get your surprise - or maybe it would be one of the kids or kevin - i feel the delight. i think may day was my next favorite holiday after Christmas growing up...fond memories.
sending hugs and kisses xo

I love buttercups! One of my favorite pictures of my daughter is her sitting in a field of buttercups.

I just started drinking Gen Mai Cha a couple of weeks ago and I'm mad for it. I was thinking yesterday that I'd gone through my box so quickly I was going to go broke trying to keep myself in tea and here you present a source of buying in bulk. Yay!

I love your flowers and your story about walking home from school. I'm really missing you today... I'm at Art & Soul Hampton and it's not the same without you... and of course I want to be in one of your classes today. I know it's my turn to email... so hopefully I will make the time to sit and write to you soon. Oh and I LOVE toasted rice tea... my favorite is Tea of Inquiry (love the name too) by The Republic of Tea. Which kind are you drinking?

happy mayday a day late :) buttercups always make me smile and grin and want to jump up and down and roll in the grass. there is something that always takes me back to that pigtailed girl with scrapped knees and dirty fingernails :)
hope your may is filled with light and beauty, xo

I've been having bunny yearnings lately. (We even have an expression for it, since it's so common for us: "There's a bunny-shaped hole in our heart.") We had a beloved house bunny that I now miss very much. Bunnies allowed to run relatively free in the house develop lots of personality. Those kept in cages can get kinda mean. (Ours slept in a cage at night, which she thought of as her home base.)
Their shedding process is astonishing; their fur loosens in little clumps and you have to take them outside and pull the little tufts loose, which is a bizarre and sneezy process.
She grew up with an old cat, and was a little unclear on the species distinction. The cat even litter-trained the rabbit! Kinda galled the cat but we were sure happy.
But I'm not going to get another one for a few reasons. #1 of course would have to be the three kittens we got last year, who would dearly LOVE us to bring home a bunny of any size. #2: They're inveterate cord-chewers with a nasty knack for finding the one cord that can bring down the whole house network (like the power cable to the router). #3: They seem to have it in for your best furniture.
As for you and your family, I can imagine it would be highly rewarding. They're mighty photographable too. And given your lucky timing with that moth photograph, I imagine you might even be able to capture the endearing bunny-yawn that always eluded me. (damn you, shutter lag!!! [shaking fist at sky])

pretty, pretty flowers...
I worked, and I wrote, and I took a walk in the field next door and I dreamed more than I did before I took the walk, and I read some May Sarton and called my son and ate yummy stuff for dinner :)
I LOVE bunnies...but they make me sneeze..the animal I am most allergic too! but I LOVE them!
