a few months ago Stephanie and i talked about creating a video each week/month, sharing the same theme, and finally.... after she gave me the kindest push, here is my video. the theme? shadows. i loved this theme! shadows will never look the same to me now. be sure to check out her video, too!
and perhaps even create your own video using only shadows? let me know if you do!
~
wishing you a happy valentine's day!
...my daughter's handmade cards, she sewed them herself! she was so excited about getting to use the sewing machine for the first time, i remember that feeling, bliss!
and my studio window this morning. i am in love with circle garland, i have been wanting to make some ever since i spotted some somewhere a while ago.
very simple to make, punch out a bunch of circles (or any shape) and sew them all to a piece of string ... and there you have a lovely necklace for any window or wall.

I remember when I first started sewing. I was seven and by the time I was 10 I made a jumper that I could wear to school. (Mom did the zipper.) Love your daughters Valentine's and for you giving her the wings to fly with this project.
I also like your garland very much. I've been playing with circles for Michele Ward's crusade and I might just have to play with your idea.
um...OMG...i am just so unbelievably blown away...this video...i can't stop watching...the soulfulness...your hands...the dancing...the release...the drums...YOU...and once again i see me in it all...
blown...blown...away...
and then to see there's more...your daughter's sewn valentine...her first time at a sewing machine...YAY!!!...you've got me out of my chair and dancing too...it is gorgeous...gorgeous...gorgeous....
and then to see there's more...your circle garlands...i LOVE them...a definite must on the to-do list...

And your video is INCREDIBLY ARTISTIC, so sultry, feminine with that touch of whimsy! oh, to just sit and chat with you. thank you for giving more of your beautiful self. xo wanda
No better way to jump-start my day than to watch this fun-filled frivolous fabulous video! Nothing like moving to the beat....you and your daughter BOTH have it! Her precious little hands jubilating above her head...priceless. And better yet, those Valentines! I still say, "I wanna be one of your kids" My Mom was just like you, ya know...the Kool-Aide Mom who made everything fun and all the neighbors wanted to come over! Dance, sing, jump, chase shadows.
Ohh giggle ..I had to get that tune of itunes -- Maya and I have been dacing to "Slap on the drum" ...feel the body wriggle ...all morning ... ohh it hits deep in the bones that sound ...
