farewell, rain

after many days of pouring rain the sun finally came out today. 

this is how we celebrated...

good morning beautiful misty! the middle one especially...i said an audible, "oh wow!" and olivia ran over and said, "she's beautiful!" :)

we will be visiting my mom and in the woods today. i will be thinking of this special, most lovely, heart tugging video. i heart family time and capturing the fleeting moments...and i just got all teary thinking of it all.

I think those rainy days gave you some inspiration..this video is too cute....you muffling your laughter and kevin dancing were my favorite parts....but your kids....little spirits so free and alive. I want to be a kid for a day....just one day....and jump off of dead tree trunks without hurting my myself....

What a lovely video. Here is a suggestion though. Give Kevin the camera so you are in the video too. Your kids will be able to look back on this day and see you in it too. I know I treasure the one movie that my parents are in.

Beautiful, of course. I laughed out loud when I saw girl push boy out of the shot when the shadows were dancing on the tree. SO big sisterly of her!!! Boy, that boy is growing!!! He looks so different from when I saw him last!! just grown. Round. Tall. Sweet.

How fortunate that your kids have the opportunity to run freely through the trees.

I am in the smoggy and dry desert of Southern California right now, but in the 1990s my family and I lived in Northwest Arkansas. My whole extended family lives there and my mom and dad were originally from there.

I miss the trees and the smell of wet leaves and fresh rain so deeply that it's an ache. I miss watching my little ones play with rocks and sticks.

Enjoy your time with your family and the lovely nature that is all around you.
